I had forgotten this was on, so now have TMS on while I 'work'.

I would LOVE to be sat in the stands at Sophia Gardens with a nice cold beer right now.

Currently 49/0 from 9 overs (Malan 34 off 33, Brook a rather pedestrian 14 off 21).

Should be a cracker, this.

Are any of NSC's cricket lovers there?

It's felt very steady so far yet it's not far short of a run a ball.

Could be a cricket score today

Ticking over but Simon 'Doully' Doull wants England to get a move on.

We're in trouble now

It's a good thing we bat deep, though I think my positive opinion of Willey's batting is somewhat coloured by watching him smash 100 off about 40 balls in a t20 at Hove about (what seems like) 10 years ago (it's probably only 5)

NZ have excellently used their hundred/IPL/franchise skills according to Doully to keep a lid on England, could do with a wicket now.

And they'll need (on average) 15 out of 15 to reach that 325 total.
Yeah, it's looking a little optimistic :)

Stokes will give it beast mode soon though, surely...

Buttler's the real danger man for the kiwis anyway.

I'm still confident we'll hit 300, but not so easily

Stokes goes to 50, with a six over cow. From what I have seen (only half watching on my phone at work) he's barely middled a ball yet.

I wasn't making a prediction fwiw, as just had the BBC score update on the laptop whilst beavering away. I've now finished that and need to do some work on the outside of the house, so it's TMS from now on. If I've managed to embed this correctly (I've failed at this on NSC in the past) the following graphic is interesting re the earlier comment: only one over of 12, and two of over 12, the remainder fell below. The optimist in me says it's down to the pitch, but as someone who now regards themselves as a disappointed optimist (rather than a straight optimist), we'll have to wait and see how the NZ innings pans out before a final assessment.
