That is rather surprising because I was told by an ex pro that footballers are banned by most clubs from drinking Red Bull for fear of failing a random drug test at training.

Might have been winding you up,

Red Bull Energy Drink does not contain any doping substances nor is it banned for use by professional sports people. In January 2004, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) removed caffeine from the list of doping substances. The International Olympics Committee (IOC) agreed to this decision.

The Welsh don't seem to mind sponsored teams. They had TNS previously, but also have Airbus UK (works team) and Gap Connah's Quay Nomads (sponsored).
