He's very impressive. As @Uncle Spielberg says, talented and funny.

I was watching the documentary about another talented and funny man, last night. Bobby Robson. The glee with which parts of the media abused him was shocking and disgusting. Hard though it is to believe sometimes, things have improved somewhat over the last 30 years.

Which probably goes some way to explain why ITV's 'entertainment' output is so popular.
Also, having just opened up the story on the BBC website, I saw this:

'Auditions in front of the judging panel are not scheduled to start for another two months, and no-one is currently contracted to appear on next year's series.'

So, technically, the future of EVERY judge is 'very much up in the air'.

I like him. Talented and funny
I saw him at the Brighton Centre years ago doing Little Britain Live. As his inappropriate kids TV persona he called a young lad up on to the stage, no more than 15 years old, and then proceeded to grope the poor kid, grabbing the child's nuts.

I felt very uncomfortable watching it at the time and looking back I think I was probably one of several thousand witnesses to a serious sexual assault.

Edit: Having just spoken with my wife, she thinks the guy called up on stage was probably nearer 20 years old.

Im sorry but something rubs me up wrong way about David Walliams. Say what you will about personal reflections and the like and true that none of us are perfect, but he has been the centre of quite a number of controversies (particularly on race and gender) over his entire career.

Walliams is one, from working in the industry, I’ve heard a lot of stories about. None are repeatable, but my impression of the man isn’t a positive one. The same names come up time and again in “whispers”, and Walliams is always one. I never believe everything I hear unconditionally; but in some cases I hear so many and from so many people it’s hard to keep an objective opinion.

Don’t know the man and never met him myself, I should add.

I find him annoying and irritating to watch, though he might be a good bloke.
Same with Musk, who has a very punchable face..............or maybe it's me with the issues !

In fairness, that just proves bad news travels fast and gossip even faster. No one’s going DHL he’s a top bloke.

Let those who have never made a sexually explicit or rude comment in private about anyone ever cast the first stone.

Anyone ?

No.

Why else do you think Lenny Rider has started this thread?

Agree that I would always consider comments made in private very differently from something said publicly. But if someone said to me privately said what he is alleged to have said I would consider that person as a pretty nasty piece of work. I can't recall anyone that I choose to socialise with saying stuff like that. Not in the last 30 years at least.

There may of course be a context we don't know about, some kind of private in-joke with the person he was talking to. I haven't followed the story in detail.

But the point about timing and the Louis Theroux interview had also occurred to me. There may be something in that.
