He was such a fantastic musician , back at school so popular with lots of the boys colouring their hair like David , just loved most of his music , can't believe he has gone

Extraordinary talent, and a sad loss to music. Was still pushing the boundaries of popular music, judging by the final album. Will be playing a few of his LPs this week.

Talented guy.

But my respect for him is how he just got on with his job and he done it well, very well he even kept his privacy til the end.

Respect.

Absolutely stunned. Only got his latest album end of last week.

His early/mid-1970s albums: Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, and Aladdin Sane are three of the best albums ever, and the overlooked track 'Cygnet Committee' (on the Space Oddity album) was also absolutely superb - all totally original but brilliant.

Not only was he a brilliant musician, song-writer and performer, but also, it seemed, a thoroughly decent human being.

RIP.

Very sad. Not heard the latest album but fitting that it has been so well received by those that have.

Very much a legend and a massive part of my youth. Sad sad news. Really gutted.

Haven't got round to listening to the new album but will now. Crap news.

Wow. So sad, growing up in the 70s he always seemed more famous even than Lennon, who i was mostly unaware of outside the Beatles. Shock to hear this today. RIP David.
