Get Dale to sign a new contract for three years in return for letting him go for £10m+. We get better money, he gets a cut of the dough and a big pay hike in the Prem. That would suit everyone if he's going anyway.

Good point, and he could put him in the reserves for 10 months, and lose £5.5m (at least) and continue to pay his sizable wages, but I think he has better business acumen.

That doesn't matter. It's not about him staying. He signs now so he's worth more; in return we let him go this window; and he gets a cut of the extra dough. Nothing to do with him actually intending to stay on the championship.

I'm a bit surprised that Beram Kayal does not want to sign a new contract (if he hasn't) in case of injury. The same applies to Dale Stephens. Bung in a transfer release clause and there is a win-win situation.

I can see how Dale Stephens and Beram Kayal want to play at the highest level possible approaching the peak ages of their career, which is why they signed their existing contracts.

Money: with promotion bonuses, the earnings at Brighton may be a better deal than signing for Burnley with a relegation reduction over a three year period. This depends on results though.

That would be a silly thing for him to do. What if he signs, then we don't get the offer we want, he's stuck here. He's also able to get better personal terms with his new club if he doesn't cost them much due to having only a year left.

Those last points mean we won't let him go cheaply. So we're back to how much he's worth to the buying club, and it's not unrealistic to think he's worth a similar amount as Hendrick, to the buying club.

Thats not a riddle at all. Bloom/BHA hold his registration. He cant play for anyone else without that registration being transferred. If Bloom refuses to sell at any price its effectively preventing him from playing anywhere but here
