Right I can't get the search function to work so apologies if this has already been posted ...

If in a game of cricket each player of a batting side is bowled out first ball, which numbered batsman will be not out?

Apparently it was on University Challenge recently.

1 out 2 non strike
3 out 2 non strike
4 out 2 non strike
5 out 2 non strike
6 out 2 non strike
7 out 2 non strike

change ends

2 out 8 non strike
9 out 8 non strike
10 out 8 non strike
11 out 8 non strike

Why?

I'm not disagreeing, just can't be arsed to work it out, but want to know the reason.

1, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7 will be bowled in the first over, leaving 8 at the non-striker's end when the bowling changes ends.

do you think it has EVER happened in ANY level of cricket worldwide?

if you think "no", then do you expect that it will do, sometime, somewhere, before the end of cricket/the world...?

Great figures for the bowlers ...

Kirtley finishes with figures of 1 1 6 0
RMJ finishes with figures of 0.4 0 4 0

I very much doubt it.

I remember reading about a school cricket team that were all out for 3. Two leg byes and the number 11 got 1.

Then they lost on the first ball, bowling 4 wides. :lolol:

True.

I agree, 8

Has this happened before, Im not sure, But I remember Ashdown Forest a good few years ago where the game was over without a run being scored with the bat, the home side were all out for 0, then the oppo got an extra to win the game, it even got in the Argus !!!
