I feel that we can win today. Gatting is due a goal and I think if he can get one his conferdence will soar and he will start getting a few more.

The Crewe site actually says "Brighton meanwhile are without the suspended Paul McShane saw Adam Hinshelwood comes into the side in his place. Sebastien Carole is only fit enough for the bench, whilst Dean Hammond also dropsto the subs meaning Joel Lynch and Richard Carpenter come into the side."

Why has Hammond been dropped after his best game in ages? ???

---------Henderson-------
El-Abd--Hinsh--Butters--Lynch
Hart--Carpenter--Mayo--Frutos
-----Kazim-Richards--Gatting---

Looks a decent team though.

No just not good enough (in the opinion of MM) to be in the squad.

Not bad, but on current form, I'd replace Chippy with Hammond.

Chippy Fit For Crewe

Richard Carpenter has recovered from his calf injury and returns to the starting line-up this afternoon at Crewe.

Carpenter replaces Dean Hammond - who drops to the bench - and will partner Kerry Mayo in the centre of the park.

Elsewhere Joel Lynch returns at left-back, while Adam Hinshelwood replaces the suspended Paul McShane in defence.

Colin Kazim-Richards continues in attack with Joe Gatting, while Seb Carole is named among the substitutes.

Midfielder Tony Grant and defender Madjid Bougherra make their debuts for the home side, while Lee Bell and Luke Varney also come into the side.

Albion: (4-4-2) Henderson; El-Abd, Hinshelwood, Butters, Lynch; Hart, Carpenter, Mayo, Frutos; Kazim-Richards, Gatting. Subs: Martin (GK), Nicolas, Hammond, McPhee, Carole.

Crewe: (4-4-2) Turnbull; Otsemobor, Foster, Bougherra, Tonkin; Bell, Lunt, Grant, Varney; Taylor, S Jones. Subs: Tomlinson (GK), Walker, McCready, Higdon, O'Connor.

Referee: Harold Webb
