Russian air force planes have been 'straying' into our airspace far more often than you think. It's nothing new and has been going on years.

Very much this, as ours are over their territories.
I seem to remember one of our submarines taking pictures of the Soviet Aircraft Carriers propellers during a major soviet exercise in the Barents sea.
All the nations probe each others defences constantly.
Russia needs to have an ******** of a president. If he was weak, there would be chaos there.

It goes on everywhere except it is news when it happens here which is understandable , not that you will hear anything when the same thing happens in Russia , like an American spy plane got chased out of Russia into Sweden not so long ago.

Feel really sorry for the poor hand-selected saps were who were put up to take the fall for this one. Fooling nobody.

I think they are slightly better off than the crew of that Buk M2 that shot down the Malaysian passenger plane over East Ukraine, I think they probably had a bullet in the back of the head within a day. Putin wouldn't want any incriminating evidence rolling around that could point to him over that one. Not many of these SAM's ever get fired in anger and a crew that actually launches one would soon be common knowledge in the military.

Weird happenings at the Kremlin. Journalists primed for a 'big announcement' this weekend.

Seems that if there is a palace coup going on, the new guys will be even more hardline nationalistic than Putin.

When Putin unexpectantly admitted to seizing Crimea last week, was he making sure of his legacy in history ?

the "alternative" news are making a big fuss over Putin not being seen, but the only thing i read in more sane media is that his girlfriend has just given birth. so one might conclude that its paternal concern rather than coup d'etat. one would have thought they'd be a bit more visable evidence if there were power struggle in Russia, with troop and police manouvres reported.

You have to feel a bit sorry for Vlad, from here on the only way is down for him. In America you still get referred to as "President " even after you have served your term., they name libraries after you and charitable foundations, In Russia poor old Mr Putin will have to sleep in a stainless steel underground bunker if he wants to see a pension.
