He's the club scapegoat, pretty sad that some fans find it necessary to take the piss out of their own clubs players.

Well said. And let's be honest the rest of the defence wasn't completely faultless (either today, or last season)... but hey let's heap the blame on Colin Hawkins. Give the bloke a chance, making donkey noises is not a great way to get behind a team when they're down to ten men, and drawing 2-2 in a vital game.

He is a good pro, and the majority of people on this messageboard were raving about him at the start of last season. He rushed back after injury too soon, wasn't fit, and was pretty poor for a run of about three games. But put things into proper perspective, he was exceptional against Peterborough at London Road, and played in our two best pre-Slade performances Millwall (4-1) and Leicester City (3-2)... I think if anyone was to tot up total mistakes per game played for last season, Colin would be a fair way down the list for last season, and this.

i find it sad that fans are turning on an Albion player. Ok we've had players who have turned their back on the club and have deserved some abuse, but Hawkins has always given his best and has been thrown into desperate situations where he can't win.

Why isn't Elphick getting abuse for his red card, or Whing for his lack of fitness, or Virgo for giving the ball away, or Forster for missing a penalty, or...........?

It's a shame that some people get pleasure out of the misfortunes of an Albion player.

I feel this needs another bounce for the absolute TWATS that feel the need to undermine a hard-working pro for no reason.
