Club Anthem for the Terraces

Is it me or are there others who would love the club to adopt a song and turn it into an anthem that can ring around The Amex.

I always feel that there are so many small pockets on the terraces that try to outdo each other rather than combining and producing an awesome sound.

I know there are going to be many that say we have "Sussex by the Sea" but lets face it this is more of a chant and is so generic about going up for the cup!!

Whenever you hear terraces united singing an anthem it is an awesome sound and can only inspire our team.

Lets be radical and see if we can initiate this for the coming season and our push for promotion.

Point the first. It's about going up AND winning the cup.

No no no no no no no no no.... we have GOSBTS. This is a terrible "Glad All Over" type suggestion. I bet you like goal music too. No no no no no. We have "Praise You" at the end, but this would be the first stage in replacing GOSBTS as the run out song, and that must never happen.

Nothing wrong with GOSBTHS as the team walks out.

But during the game we need a club anthem. Do Everton sing Z Cars all the way through the game ? NO.

Another vote for praise you, that would sound amazing with a whole ground singing. I think most people would know the tune so shouldn't be an issue. I firmly believe that if people started singing this it would take off, but that's the issue no one will and it will probably never happen.

The line "I have to praise you like I should" always seems a bit of a tautology to me.

I've thought this in the past, but if in saying "I have to" he is implying that he is has a compulsion to Praise You, as is expected of him ("like I should") then it would seem to be less tautologous, though of course the two factors could well be linked.

I should support the Albion isn't quite the same as I have to support the Albion, but both are true.

And to the original post: GOSBTS.
