I didn't know about this but just found out.

Does this closure mean the building is going to be demolished(I can only hope).

I thought if that were the case, it would have been more high profile but being on the other side of the Thames at the moment, I sometimes miss these things.

Are't they knocking it down to redelop the whole Brighton centre complex?

Let's hope they don't rebuild it with an Event 3.

they've been talking of revamping it for ages

i think they're doing up the event, re-opening that, and then doing up creation

That's what I thought.

Thing is, if they do it up, it means it will be less likely to be demolished any time soon.

Damn:(

Its turning into a 3000 capacity oceana, which are nice clubs. Door staff will be alot stricter and it will be aimed at the over 21's on a saturday.

When its open, Creation will shut and be turned into a 'Liquid' or a 'Lava/Ignite' and aimed at teh chavvier crowd

Well the chavs arent the problem are they at the moment?

to me it seems like the problem are the "gangs" and those r n b nights, filtering down from London. I wish they had closed sacchara's(sp?) longer though, because in my opinion it's an over priced shit hole.

Pub wise, the albert appears to have gone chavvy since I've been in London, which was disappointing for when I came back the other week. Lots of "wiggas" about too, and it wasn't even beer and rap night!

rest assured the oceana will look nice. look at the ones in Bristol, Birmingham and Leeds. They are all very nice clubs. I can imagine a big glass front on the front looking over the sea!

I just wonder how much remit they have on building works though?

they wouldnt turn it into an oceana if they couldnt do something up to the same standard as Bristol/Leeds/Birmingham venues as its their "flagship" brand

But just how much can you do to the Kingwest building to improve it?

If they manage something to make it look semi decent, I will take my hat off to them.

I still reckon Brighton needs a reflex though.
