Good life to reach such a ripe old age but still sad the passing of a generation fine comic actor they don't make em like that any more RIP

To this day Dads Army is still very funny, a classic comedy that has stood the test of time.

Clive Dunn was one of the younger actors in Dads Army - the make up artists made him look 30 years older than he actually was.:bowdown:
 


He's one of those celebs who seemed to be old for decades. To the point where you're convinced he'd have popped his clogs long ago. Bernard Cribbins being another.

Anyway, RIP to the fella.

I think this is because although he was made up as an elderly character he was actually only in his forties when the programme started.

I still watch Dads Army at every opportunity, Jimmy Perry and David Croft were masters at this type of comedy I absolutely adore Hi De Hi, more great characters (especially the punch and judy man who hated kids) just like Dads Army.
