You’ve missed out the obvious option — no breakfast at all. Based on the knowledge that I’ll shortly be confronted with the biggest plate of food of the entire year, I deliberately avoid breakfast on Christmas Day. Anyone eating a full English before tackling the mountainous plateful must be nuts. Which reminds me — if I have anything it’s likely to be a few peanuts and a glass of fizzy stuff while peeling potatoes, chopping carrots etc.

If I was to miss one meal it’d be the latter, I like a good breakfast (and will need it as I’m usually hanging a bit) A roast is ‘meh’ for me. I keep trying (unsuccessfully) to get the family down Maloncho on Christmas Day.

My husband's traditional family Christmas breakfast is a pork pie, some coleslaw and a glass of sherry.

I"ll be having a fry up.
