It's absolutely packed in town.

Had a good first day, paid out £1,300 to something like my fifth customer.
Met Chris Kamara as well. Happy days.

Now to do it all again tomorrow.

Mr. Tony Bloom’s horse runs today at 4.00 in the Coral Cup, AACHEN. Its a big price at 40/1, but is trained by V.Williams who is in good form at the moment. And yes the jockeys colours are blue and white stripes! Have done £2 each way at 40/1.

I have an account with Skybet, my strategy is to pick longer priced horses to get a place. Now I'm sure last year Skybet had an option just to bet on the horse getting a place. This year I've had to go E/W so half the stake is always down the drain.

Does anyone use Skybet and know the solution?

I am aware of the Tote option, but the odds aren't stated and it only pays on the first three. Skybet themselves often pay out on the first 4 or 5 horses and at 1/4 the odds and not 1/5.

Incidently I bet on the first 4 races yesterday and got a place each time with some of the longer priced horses.

Paddy Power, Betfair and Bet£3.65 all offer place betting.
Other bookmakers (not usually the big three though) often offer 5 places instead of 4.
1/4 or 1/5 usually depends on the type of race - not sure if any of the races at the festival will be 1/5
