In all seriousness, there's a real chance you could stay up with 15
It feels like the promoted teams have just banked the Prem money and not significantly invested in their squads. Apart from a few cheap signings and loans each they're basically all the same as they were in the Championship, and look it.

Luton made it clear that is what they would be doing before the season started. This year’s premier league money secures their future in the short term whilst they’re waiting for their new stadium.

Watching those entitled pricks in their parent’s spare room on YouTube makes me wonder where civilisation is going, then I look at myself and question why am I wasting my time watching it?! Anyway in the words of Keegan I’d love it if we beat them tomorrow, the knives would be properly out for Poch.

Burnley have spent big. I expect they are the most likely to survive but realistically I think all three will be relegated. Maybe Wolves or Bournemouth will be in the mix. I think Everton will have too much to get embroiled this year.

Us tomorrow, Fulham at the weekend - both games the Chelsea fans of my acquaintance see as defining for whether Poch stays or goes. Lose them both and they'll be screaming for his head. Insanely fickle!

I think, of the three, Burnley will be Ok. they haven't got going yet in terms of results, and its a steep learning curve, but they seem to have a bit of quality, both in terms of players and manager. Luton and Sheffield look to be gone after six games. A shame as it doesn't leave the room for Chelsea and Newcastle to both go down (which obviously wouldn't happen, but i can dream).

Lopetegui was watching from the stands when they lost at the weekend and is said to be eyeing a return to the Premier League, which would undoubtedly cause a hilarious meltdown in West London and beyond.

Despite his lamentable historical associations with a certain football club, he talks a lot of sense and often have positive things to say about us.

(He may also talk a lot of nonsense. I don't listen to Talksport but hear the odd clip)
Agreed…..i do listen to TS ..well the JM & SJ show anyway

So just to be clear, in your view, the account being racist is acceptable because he’s parodying other racists?
That's what parody is though. It mocks the racists. It's not too everyone's taste, but should it be banned because some people don't have more than 2 brain cells to knock together?

I am not aiming the last comment at anyone here. It's very easy to miss parody at first exposure.

Yes. He's literally making the real thing look ridiculous.

Also, just so we're clear, people satirising Boris Johnson by having a character that bumbles, breaks the law and comes out with casual racist or sexist phrases are also fine. Because they're sending up Boris. Ditto for parodies of homophobes.

@London Pompous being a "football hooligan" to send up football hooligans is also fine, because he's satirising football hooligans. NSC is cool with it too, because it's in Gold. https://www.northstandchat.com/thre...ups-in-store-next-season.201546/#post-4116716

Hundreds of years of tradition of satire, mockery and wind ups aren't going to be abandoned because a phrase might offend one or two people. At least I hope not.

It's absolutely incredible I've had to explain this to a grown up, and it's started to occur to me that you, too may be a parody. If you are, you're not as good at it as the "Chels" Twitter account.

I suspect he's just a bit thick. And probably racist. Or more likely racialist.
Me? For not seeing the funny side of, and excusing, an account which is racist? Wise up

I guess it’s just a difference of opinions over what’s acceptable and funny in 2023. Intriguing that you both go for me over it though, says more about yourselves

Fair enough really. No point spunking it all on overblown wages. Keep the core squad together and challenge again I a year.

Perhaps you're right.
