Top 2 Odds:-

Newcastle 1/10
Us 1/5
Hudds 8
Leeds 9
Reading 12
Yep, our odds have lengthened quite a bit.

So, it's approx 3/1 that we don't get automatic promotion. Usual price with 2 outcomes, when odds are 1/5 for one. Bookies obviously fancy us :)
Not as much as they did. And you can get 4/1 on us making the playoffs, which is about the same as missing top 2.

Not sure if I am calculating that correctly

But lets say you put 4 x £1 bets on

Brighton to make the play offs £1 @ 4/1 = £5

Huddersfield to make Top 2 - £1 @ 8/1 = £9

Leeds to make Top 2 - £1 @ 9/1 = £10

Reading to make Top 2 - £1 @ 12/1 = £13

If you were to make those 4 bets then unless Both Newcastle and Brighton don't make it and/or another club comes from nowhere, for talking sake Sheff Wed to get promoted then you would win at least £1

That being the case Treble each bet to £100 then almost certainly going to win £100. - I know its not a certainty but a fairly safe-ish bet

No.

You lose your money if Brighton and Newcastle finish top two.

Best prices now: 4-6 Newcastle, 2-1 Albion, 14-1 Huddersfield, 250-1 bar

Which is a 99.8pc book about the only three conceivable results, which puts some of the gloom & doom on here on Wednesday morning into perspective. Some seemed to think our chance of winning the league had effectively gone, but it's still a very solid 33pc.

Comparison between best odds and average odds also suggests there's much more value in Newcastle and Albion than there is in Huddersfield. Newcastle are 6-4 fav to win on Saturday, & while there are still a lot of points to play for, if Huddersfield are anything close to a 14-1 chance to finish top, they surely need to beat Newcastle to do it. And if they *do* beat Newcastle, of course, it boosts our chances as well ....

The spreads offer reassurance too. Current mid-prices for final points total with Sporting Index are:

Newcastle 95.25
Brighton 92.25
Huddersfield 85.25

I'd buy Brighton and Huddersfield with those. That's assuming that we're going to score fewer points per game over the next 12 matches than we've scored in 34, despite the fact that only three of our games are against teams in the top half of the table (and one of those is against fast-sinking Derby),

They're assuming roughly the same for Huddersfield but think Newcastle will maintain their average, despite having to play four of the top six teams.

If Huddersfield don't pick up some points, I'm in big trouble.

I was so convinced Brighton would beat Newcastle I lay £50 on Huddersfield Not winning the League with an £800 liability. This will be paid from £2000 winnings if they do win the League. Now guaranteed to break even or win.

Hopefully! [emoji838]⚪

Yeah, I was getting tired of typing, but ended with Derby for comedy purposes. Next in the betting btw is Preston at 40/1. They are 4 points higher than Derby currently, so god knows why they are 2.5 times as less likely than Derby in the bookies eyes?!
