Did himself no favours, but his had a mental year

He has got to find a bit yet if he is to go to the Olympics. I hope he fails miserably.

Shows how much it means to him, he apologised immediately afterwards in the interview. Good luck to him.

He's going to need to find nearly half a second if he wants a gold medal!

How much (lottery) money has been spent on athletics in general and sprinting in particular, over the last 10 years?
Which ever multi million pound figure it is, surely it was enough to find better, more creditable athlete than Chambers.

Are you trying to tell me it's not possible to find 1 person with the raw talent to run fast, in 5 - 10 years.

You need to grab as much of the raw talent as you can and then supply it with the best coaching and then you might see results. We do a bit of both but not nearly enough. It's not just about throwing money at it though as I don't imagine Jamaica spend much more than we do on it.

Exactly what my chosen specialised subject, cycling, preaches.
Remember 20 years ago we had 1 cyclist, under the UK banner, and one doing it solo.
With comparable money we are now a (the) world force in most disciplines.

The fact that Chambers is still relevant, is shameful, to UK athletics.

Exactly. At the last world championships Michael Johnson was amazed that Christian Malcolm and Marlon Devonish were still our representatives, 10 years or so after recording their PB,s

At least no one in cycling takes performance enhancing drugs.

Oh....

Oh....

I think you completely missed his point.
The fact that the Chambers debate goes on is because we have not had any youngsters come through to displace him.

When did we last win the Tour De France, the ONLY discipline. Just because no'one else is bothered with the ludicrous indoor cycling malarky (when did anyone you know ever do this) don't get dragged in to believing it means anything at all

Dave Millar was dealt with and hasn't been allowed back into Team GB/Team Sky cycling, until now, after Chambers fought to get the ban lifted.
Hence plying his trade for USA outfit Garmin.
In that time, indoors and on the road, GB cycling has gone from nothing to world and Olympic champions in multiple disciplines.
