Carry on girls is a good one to watch with lots of shots of early 70s Brighton image.png

I disagree. It's a good one but not the best.

For me that award goes to:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062782/

Witness-
Rhandi Lal.
The Burpas.
The Devils in skirts.
Bungdit Din.
Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond.
"My beautiful warriors"

Only let down slightly by the flaccid ending.

I'm afraid that one is a total no-no with the PC brigade.I was working with some blokes from Bangladesh, needed the toilet, said Mustrapha Leak, queue total meltdown.Apparently Mustapha is one of the prophets names (PBUH) and I had insulted him!A shia lad from iran thought it was very funny, but then,he had already upset them by wearing a medallion with the prophet's face (PBUH) on it.Nowt so strange as folk!!!!!!

Life of Brian is by far the best British comedy.

In no particular order, my best 4 are:

Cleo
Abroad
Up The Khyber
Follow That Camel

Two years ago I was in Covent Garden and Fenella Fielding walked past - she played the gorgeous Valeria in 'Screaming'. Wish I'd approached for an autograph, she was top cinematic crumpet.

Love a bit of Carry On. Classic British comedy.

Carry on Cleo is my favourite. The reason it was a lot more sumptuous than the rest of the films is because a lot of the scenery/props were made for the actual Cleopatra film starring Elizabeth Taylor. When they decided to make the film in Rome they left all that stuff behind, that's the reason they decided to do carry on Cleo. Not to mention all the free publicity as Cleopatra with Taylor was so beset by problems and had a massive budget.

I'm a big fan of British comedy films and sitcoms. Because of this I have ended up reading bits and pieces about the carry on series. There are very few I don't like, Girls and Emanuele are best forgotten.
