Car stereo theiving question

I always take the front panel off my stereo and hide it under the seat. The excess on my insurance for a car stereo is higher than the value of my stereo so it's not like I'd be able to claim anything anyway.

I did that at Three Bridges station when off to Wembley for an England match, when I got back the window was smashed, stereo front panel gone from under the seat and stereo ripped out. There is no security benifit to having a removable front, you're just as likely to have your car trashed whatever you have. If you can, stick with factory fitted stereo, it's harder to get out and quite often only fits the car it's installed in.
