Not since the Brixton Academy days - sorry I cant help you!

Could be worth calling them - I don't want you to end up in KFC!

I think Jamaican food is criminally underrated: I love it as much as Indian or Chinese food and would go out for one about as often if it was more widely available. Ackee and saltfish...oh my DAYS.

Ditto, and I've moaned on this site about the lack of a restaurant in B'ton. When I'm in London for a few days I'll always try to find somewhere and get some. I know some good places north of the river but not down south. I also pretty much live off Jamaican food at Glastonbury.

IOh, and I've invested in the Levi Roots cook book.

Have you been recently? The only reason I ask is that I've just looked at a couple of website reviews, all positive but they date from 2009/2008. Is it still open?

Can't speak for the food, but it's very much open and doing very well as a pub.

Know people who have been for nights out down there, and had a great time, as a decent boozer

Not been but isn't Jamaica Inn on Portland Rd quite good ?

Good shout, it's a long long time since I last went there but they only did 'reggae roasts' then. Maybe I should check and see if they've expanded the menu.
