That's the problem with floating on the stockmarket, innit. Good deal for shareholders, therefore they don't give a monkeys.
It is a shame that Cadbury's will no longer be British owned, however this is a risk of puting a company in the hands of shareholders - it can be bought out by anyone (see Manchester United).

Gutted. If Cadburys ever, ever begins to tste like American chocolate i will be storming up the road to the factory to let my feelings known!
Damn right... the only good cocoa-based thing to have come of of America is Reeses cups.

there is the risk, in the drive for efficency, that the production and R&D might be taken abroad. im not sure thats very likly with Cadbury's since they are No1 in a massive market.

This is a very sad day for chocolate lovers everywhere. Americans can't make chocolate along with most other things.
On a positive note I shall be 2 stone lighter and £30 richer by March!! 
It was not long ago that Green and Blacks (official chocolate of Herr Tubthumper) was a small indy. Booo.
