Gilmour and JP, two 21 year olds, absolutely dominating a world class central midfield. Wonderful stuff.

Good first half. Nervy first few minutes, especially for Estpinan, as they were pressing us so hard... but once we got past that, we looked like ourselves, and dominated.

We deserve to be winning, we've been the better side. They have looked dangerous at times though.

Joao Pedro is looking very good, a constant outlet, very strong.

Gilmour is just immense as a maestro in the middle. His passing range is incredible. Becoming a really important player already.

Verbruggen looking confident and able as our new number one.

Some moments of quality from Mitoma as usual.

Van Hecke looking solid and confident.

Veltman looking like an improvement on Milner at RB.

All in all, we can be pleased with the first half. Long way to go though. Newcastle are a strong side and very dangerous - next goal changes everything.

Fantastic half from Brighton - Mitoma, Gilmour and Ferguson playing particularly well. We need to be careful on keeping possession in the final third but we have kept Toons on the back foot after some tense opening few minutes.

Im warming to Verbruggen too - he looks more confident with Veltman and Van Hecke in front of him.
