Either an extra year of economic drift and uncertainty or another 12 months to try to reverse a disaster, depending on how you look at it. Meanwhile, Nigel floats the spectre of revolution on the streets and Arron Banks revs up quietly on the sidelines, ready to park his tank on Theresa's lawn at the any sign of impure thoughts. Fascinating and depressing times.

Tim Montgomerie said in his column a couple of weeks back that UKIP/The leave campaign must continue and redefine themselves to ensure Brexit does happen. Interesting times indeed.

Bit dramatic, you have certainly depressed me...... not really.

The Sunday Times are sorry to announce that due to elections in France and Germany Brexit is now delayed until late 2019 and article 50 will not be invoked until September of next year. Plus, according the 'city source' in the story, the 2 new Whitehall departments aren't up to speed yet either.

That would be nothing short of a disgrace.

And much needed. Might give the leave campaign time to get their shambolic act together.

Nonsense. Remainers and Brexiters may disagree about how the UK will prosper post Brexit, but all sensible people on both sides recognise that the period of uncertainty while it is actually happening is damaging. The people have spoken - so go ahead and get on with it now. Delaying is really just a desperate last ditch attempt by remoaners to thwart the democratic purpose.

And remember - the leave campaign doesn't 'have to get its shambolic act together'. The leave campaign's raison d'etre was to secure a win for Brexit at the polls - and they succeeded. It is now up to the Government, not the leave campaign, to facilitate Brexit.

The 'source' in the article indicated that both Davis & Fox had acknowledged we need to know who we're dealing with in France and Germany during the whole of the article 50 process and both their new Whitehall departments have only existed for less than 2 months.

It seems that Brexit is like brewing Grolsch - you can't rush these things.

Oh far from it, now more than ever the Brexit campaigners have to prove themselves.

That's what the remoaners find hard to understand. The vote in/ out was instigated by Cameron because he was so cocksure of winning. No plans were put into action because of this. Let them whinge on though as it makes them happy, although I think they should strive to find an alternative interest

That really does sound like prevarication. The fact is they will have to negotiate with whoever is in power in France and Germany, so best just get on with it.

True. You could argue that the stance on Brexit could be a policy in those elections though and the playing field could change during the negotiations.

"Delaying is really a desperate last-ditch attempt by Remainers..." Are you sure or are you making things up? The main reason for any delay seems to be the fact that the new Brexit and international trade departments will not be ready. Fox has so far appointed less than 10 per cent of the 'trade policy experts' he says he needs and Davis has fewer than half his staff lined up. Ministers apparently say that they don't have the infrastructure for the people they need to hire. "They... don't even know the right questions to ask when they start bargaining with Europe."

Thank you for your thoughts about our need to find alternative interests. I have loads of interests. The Albion, motorbikes, architecture, my family, poorly-executed DIY, travel... I've got interests coming out of my ears. I won't apologise for the fact that politics and the future direction of my country is one of them if that's all right.

Quite. Clueless people voted leave. What they need to do now is back off, quit moaning and let those who actually have a clue, try and salvage the situation.

Could you possibly get a bit more patronising............"Clueless people"..... " What they need to do"..................."let those who actually have a clue"
And "salvage" what "situation".
