How do you think he will be stopped though? The second reading is almost certain to go ahead. There will almost certainly be a delay in the timetable - but it will grind on. The number seem to be with his deal.

Delay to the timetable so the Bill can be scrutinised properly, and following that successful amendments to the Bill are what will take it away from the Government. None are anywhere near certain to pass though.

He's expecting the House of Lords to come in on Saturday & Sunday which won't be popular.
A lot of MPs who aren't on Johnson's leash are very unhappy about the lack of economic analysis.

Yes - but worryingly, for the first time in this whole sorry saga, I actually think he's going to take us out of the EU. Up till now I've always said 'Brexit won't actually happen' - but through his bombastic bullying, and spinning stories his way, I fear that it now will. In which case he will be a hero to the Tories.

I feel the opposite. I’ve previously been reluctantly accepting that we would probably leave.

But I think Johnson has massively overplayed his hand and might have totally ****ed it.

So, we have a PM that lied throughout the leave campaign, has been sacked twice for lying, was filmed and recorded by members of the press telling a man there was no press there, is telling ERG members that voting for his deal opens up the "opportunity" of a No Deal Brexit, and is telling those in his party against a No Deal that he will get a trade deal done, has appointed a man found to be in contempt of Parliament as his chief advisor, prorogued Parliament unlawfully, is under investigation for misuse of public funds, is unable to sue for libel or slander anyone that calls him a racist and a liar, but for some leavers, it's Bercow that is the man we must get rid of, even though he is standing down in a few days anyway.

The Express suggesting that Bercows days could be numbered :ffsparr:

Its quite obvious what's happened. In a few days the ERG went from frothing at the mouth to beaming. Many MPs are now up late on Twitter explaining the details.

As expected Brexit had more to do with reshaping the country into a low tax, low regulation Singapore style economy. The Neo Liberal Tea Party who have taken over the Conservative Party just needed legislation out of the way under the guise of leaving Europe.

Expect this "deal" to be picked to pieces over the next few days.

Given we keep being told that Johnson's deal is really only May's deal but with the Irish border moved to the Irish Sea it would seem reasonable that the previous economic analysis still holds.

.....but certainly not for Northern Ireland and the Johnston arrangements will certainly stir a further sense of injustice amongst the Scots.

But do little Englanders really care about the Union....?

He's gone in 9 days, they can't kick him out earlier. It might stop him becoming a member of the house of lords on standing down, as is tradition. Small minded pettiness. Shame they appear not to have anything more important to be getting on with.

By people who have not read it?

Now the detail is out, it seems this bill will get obliterated. Makes sense when you consider that the hard right ERG are behind it. Once it crashes and burns, the EU will agree the extension then we can finally kick this awful government out in an election.
