I see ASLEF Tube Drivers have voted to go on strike for the third successive Boxing Day.

Maybe the Emergency Services should all go on strike as well, to get an extra day off!

Arsenal have already confirmed that if the strike is ratified then their Boxing Day match will be postponed, so it's not only us that rely on good old public transport.

They seem to be the one set of people who have not suffered like the majority of the workforce over the last five years. The strike is just an excuse to get the day off. They don't need the money.

Expect the same next year. (When we will have an away game in the capital no doubt).

Is this 60k pa their actual salary or their package? The article mentions train drivers get a free travel pass worth 4k for them and a partner; is this 8k part of the 60?

Anyway. It's a responsible skilled job, working unsociable hours which has London weighting. A top salary of 60k seems fine with me. Good luck to them.
