I remember away fans going in the south at the goldstone coming across the bosun boys and it would go off.mayhem .

The old South Terrace was where the action was,so the family tell me,due to a young age my only regret in life was to miss out on those years.oh well

They are still around. Funnily enough I was talking to two of them on Thursday. I think quite a few away fans got a bit of a shock in the South in those days.

I remember a West Ham firm trying to take the South Stand in '78 and getting one hell of a beating.

I soooo remember that, and while the north stand got a good kicking the south stand absolutely pasted the Hammers!

The South Stand also had the Clifton boys from Worthing. As well as being involved in the game quoted against West ham a group from Spurs experienced a similar beating in the South Stand.

Tricked their way into the away section when Palace visited , started chanting Palaces songs their supporters all gathered round and .... mayhem ... our visitors ran in all directions. Police escorted them into the North Stand to a heroes welcome.

I think the best one was when we got into the away pen in Ronnie Regan masks etc. against Sunderland and they were begging the old bill to get us out, saying we were mad! Not so hard as when they ambushed stragglers after Newcastle - Brighton.
