Brighton factually.....
Boris has just been on local London news, promoting the benifits of children learning to swim in coordination with the olympics. When asked if he was any good at swimming he replied.

" I once entered a swimming race and came so last i finished HALF OF TWO FURLONGS BEHIND "

Do you mean one furlong behind then Boris

He is just value for money, im glad i voted for the dude

It wasn't the cockneys that voted for him.

It was Bexley and Bromley, whose turnout in May 08 was at 60%(!!!) and 100k of them voted for Boris.

Big C they are running East London extension line trials now!

I know! Should be open May 2010 by all accounts.

Still aren't happy in my new part of the woods(Loughborough Junction/Denmark Hill) because of the plans to remove the SLL service.

Putting off Vic Tube Station upgrade till past 2018 also seems pretty damned stupid IMO.

I doubt it, nobody read that paper all the time the Lite and the Londonpaper were free.

.. and seeing as one of them was simply a cut down version of the Evening Standard.

The Evening had a massive impact on the election. In all my years I never seen newspaper coverage like that. A well planned campaign to get rid of Ken.

What you need to understand is that Ken and the Evening Standard have history, they wanted to get him back and did.

Yep and there were frothing at the mouth to get him back, which they did. That came about because they were running lots of stories about his private life.

A right wing paper like the Standard (which makes the Daily Mail look like the Socialist Worker) was never going to be happy with old Ken. The property section always makes me laugh, they have these features about expensive properties well beyond the means of most Londoners.

.. and the magazine at the weekend, full of stories about the rich and famous.

It's really the local paper for Belgravia and Kensington, with loads of Man United coverage.

Boris has somehow managed to lose so many advisors since he got in I've lost count. But unsurprisingly they are quite happy to give him the soft touch.
