After mauling Europ Asistance 9-1 last week, BHA Supporters FC faced a tough visit to second placed Burberry today.
Only a bare 11 players were available (4 of which were stricken with colds or knocks) with the loss of four other players from the previous week due to illness or work commitments, including the keeper!
But the spirit in the camp is excellent, and BHA Supporters FC went ahead early in the first half thanks to an inswinging corner from Dave Gunn which looped over the goalkeeper and flew directly into the net. BHA looked comfortable for their lead and were passing the ball around well, when a hotly disputed equaliser was scored by a forward 10 yards off side.
1-1 half time, but the Albion felt their work rate was good despite the odds against them.
Early in the second half, good work down the left wing by Sean resulted in a cross into the box pounced on by Pip Parkes, who slotted past the goalkeeper from close range. A well deserved 2-1 lead.
Burberry came back with an equaliser struck low through a body of players with temporary stand-in keeper Dave McNiven unsighted. The Brighton defenders felt they'd done enough to prevent it, but the team kept their heads up and pushed for a winner despite tiring legs.
Malcolm 'Beefy' Buss almost scored for BHA, before a long shot by Burberry was well struck into the top corner, giving our keeper no chance.
Despite Brighton remaining in mid table with this 3-2 loss and Burbery looking hot tips for promotion, the Albion players can be proud of their performance with a depleted team.
