Ah, good call. Remember them starting a gig with this once. They all walked out, then stood stationary on the very edge of the stage, backs towards the audience. The riff started, Gerard leaned into the mike, held out a pack of cards, and then on "wrong" threw them all up over the audience. At the same time, the usual 47 guitarists/Polish dancers etc leapt into the air. Wicked.

Saw them down The Zap when they started off like that. They only just about fitted onto the stage.

Not as obvious as some of the contenders on here, but surely one of the most intrigiung intros ever ? The sound of the express train, then that slow, lumbering build up, almost nightmarish in feel. Over 3 minutes into the song until the spooky vocals appear.

Remember seeing this performed live in 76, an utterly compelling, yet disturbing, experience.
