Daily Mail suggesting we have upped our bid

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer criticised Brighton this morning over their £1.5million offer for winger Ben Marshall, saying it wouldn't 'buy his right foot'.
Brighton have now offered £1.9m for the 24-year-old. Bowyer said: 'The figures that have mentioned wouldn’t buy his right foot – and he’s got two outstanding feet and a fantastic head.'

Shit, this is going to get expensive. If his right foot is 1.5m, lets say his left is 1.2m, he also has a good head - so whats that 2m? What about the arms, ffs he is no good to us without any ****ing arms. How much are the arms Bowyer?

He can play without his arms. No danger of giving away a free kick due to handball.

There was a guy who played County League football who only had one arm, about 20 years ago if memory serveds. Pretty good he was too, great balnce suprisingly although you could see opposing players were a bit concerned about tackling him.

Bit crap at throw ins though

Given we know (its in the public accounts) that the club had a £20m + football budget in 2013/14 (wages and fees) and it went up "substantially" in 2014/15 (according to Barber/Bloom) then it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the first team squad are paid quite hefty wages in that ballpark.
Alternatively have a peek in the car park at Lancing for more proof.

or ... This survey last year estimated that the average salary in the Championship was 10K a week making it the 8th most expensive league in the world.
As Albion's budget and wages are routinely in the top 10 of the Champ you'd presumably expect them to be above even that. Even for COG or Colunga or Holla however they perform on the pitch.

I believe we had the 8th biggest wage budget in 2012/13 and the 10th in 2013/14. Although ours apparently increased last season, there were a lot of teams that spent big, which is again happening this season, so I would estimate our budget for 2014/15 and 2015/16 would be in the bottom half of the division.

Blackburn have got a friendly tonight, it'll be interesting to see if Marshall plays or not. That will tell us how close we are to buying him
