I'm a lifelong formula 1 fan. I've watched it all through Piquet, Prost, Senna, Mansell, Schumacher (well, not towards his 7th), Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel. Problem is that the rules are shithouse. Hamilton decides to look after his engine and not have a scrap because the penalties for it going boom are too high and he knows from the boffins he isn't quick enough to win anyway. As a consequence I fell asleep.
Do yourselves a favour and tune into the F2 races. 10 times better than this shit.
Agree, forcing the manufacturers to focus on reliability has taken the edge off - F1 should be about maximising performance.
Breaking down with an engine or gearbox failure is penalty enough without then adding grid-place losses for the next race.
And as Iggle says, drivers now think twice about thrashing their engines - makes for processional racing.
