Barracking Stockport's Keeper last night

Sat near some blokes last night who for the entire second half kept up a barrage of abuse on their keeper calling him a c*nt and far worse and how much he smelt and all and what a shithole he lived in. As someone behind me said as a Pro footballer he probably lives in a much better house than them feckers; and (obviously) he took no notice; and so consequently I just couldn't see the point in it. Why didn't they just save their breath ?

I am all for the traditional "you're shit aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh" type chant which I remember from my youth (well, OK; early middle age !) and generally making the ooposition keeper's life a misery; but last night did nothing to get behind the team (which I admit was difficult to do on the night) - and lets face it; it was hardly in the Blackadder (or even Russell Brand) department for wit. So what was the f***ing point? Everyone else was just bored shitless by it.

We also noticed this (how could we not). Then the TINY female steward came and told them to shut up and they looked sheepish.

More annoying was the guy in front row trying to impress his girlfriend, doing chants on his OWN completely wrong;

E.G "Brigh-ton-and-Hove away away away"

"We've got MICHAEL Cox, we've got MICHAEL Cox"

IF that was any of you, own up.

He had some stupid nickname on the back of his shirt too

Unfortunately people are always going to get away with acting like idiots all the time other people wait until they're behind the safety of their keyboard before saying anything.

It's not my job to pay money, to tell idiots to shut up, and potentially get my head kicked in.

I think he was chanting 'We have FIVE foot Cox' but yes bizarre one man chant fest...

You missed out the Blue Santa hat he was wearing, seemed happy with his lot.

"First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak up, for I am not a Communist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak up, for I am not a Jew
Then they came for the trade unionists
But I did not speak up, for I am not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Catholics
But I did not speak up, for I was a Protestant
Then they came for me
And by that time, no one was left to speak up"

Poor post.

Three drunk fellow Brighton supporters, built like brick shit houses yelling personal abuse to the home goal keeper, just because we were losing, makes them tossers by any standard.

Me walking across 30ft to tell them to be quiet? Really?

I guess that's society today.

I missed that, but if I had heard it. I am sure I would have tutted and mumbled something under my breath, that would have sorted them out. However it was bloody cold and the keeper kept pooring cold water down his back, what was that about.

I resent the implication behind this post that just because I didn't act I am a coward. The last time I did this I got a black eye, a scar on my face and a smashed pair of glasses. There were three of them last night and they were all at least 30 years younger than me and in much better health.

If you want to take people like that on Safeway then good luck to you. I am not doing it again!!

He is SPARXXX - I was sitting about 6 rows behind him, and couldn't stop laughing at him. Even his girlfriend kept telling him to shut up....

I can remember everybody use to applaud the visiting keeper from the North Stand when they were running towards goal either before the first half or second half started

They do that at Swindon, except when the away 'keeper returns the gesture he's greeted with a chorus of "AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH"s. Actually quite amusing (for Swindon).
