Labour are promising test results within a week for cancer patients if they win the General Election. Desperate promises from a desperate leader of a desperate party?

Labour have form for this when last in government, setting nice sounding but clinically irrelevant targets.

the one im thinking of in particular was time to be seen by a consultant. it just meant being pushed through to the next part of the system, without materially affecting clinical outcomes. i cant recal the time, it may well be 18wk, which with the operations waiting list either doesnt add up or is subterfuge in the stats. which is the point im making, managment by statistical targets rather than medical need. its great to aim to diagnose a cancer in 7 days, but if the follow isnt any quicker it wont materially affect outcomes.
They all make promises about popular ideas before elections, and then either drop them or do the opposite after. Really Well the test results of 13 years in power is enough to make anybody sick. Does anybody really take these promises from the win double Milliband and Balls seriously.....surely not.
