Would hazard a guess is it's because we always try to keep potential deals quiet until they're over the line. Nearly every time news has gotten out (Clayton, Ward, Pritchard) the deals always broken down. Just because their doesn't appear to be any movement on the surface, doesn't mean things are not going on underneath.

This. And I said the same thing recently when Ernest was once again trying to be a WUM... BG should know better...

More to it than that I reckon, seeing as there is a couple of international breaks in that.

8 weeks is not a long time in the Championship

Would be 10 fixtures, possibly more depending on how they got on in the EFL Cup, factor in his incredibly high wages and his attitude and it all adds up to a deal that doesn't make a lot of sense.

He was prepared to take a huge wage cut, he wants to play regular football to win his place in the Ghana squad for the upcoming AFCON.

A wage cut could still mean demanding high wages, his weekly at Sunderland was stupid if reports are correct and he moved to earn more! Would not be surprised if he was asking 25-30k per week minimum
