Is there any early signs of this?I'm 32 and find my left thumb clicks alot. Will this lead to arthritis. Is this a non cureable problem? Can you get it at any age?

There are two different sorts of arthritus. Rheumatoid which is wear and tear and osteo which just sets in and can be found in children.
I don't think clicking joints causes it (if I remember rightly it is the cartilege clicking against the bone?)

Could be just a tendon problem which may be cured with an injection of hydrocortisone.

How would i know?I'm pissed.
I've just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my thumbs.........it is fairly painful, which is why i went to the doctors in the first place.
I an 41.
My mother is crippled with it, and it is a hereditary condition.
Do you have any history of it in the family?

It doesn't hurt at all.My thumb has been clicking for a few years now.I think i might just get it checked out.Luckily it's not my good hand;)

Don't think it runs in the family but i'm going to dig deeper i think

Check out Dupuytrens Contractions. Its a tendon related thing which can lead to "triggering",and leads to pain and "clawing" of the hand.

Remedies include cortisone jabs, remedial surgery and death;go for either of the first two!

Interestingly, this condition was prevalent amongst Vikings,so if sailing, rape and/or pillage number in your interests, this could be the ailment for you.

Good luck from one on the waiting list for the second of the options.Though I'm also on the third list,too_Obviously!
