The 'way forward together' might be for him to have to stand in that queue, maybe wearing a suitable disguise, and discover for himself just how completely shit it is.

Maybe he was disguised as one of the ticket sellers in a Dame Edna Everage way?

It's a bit dissapointing. Prices have been set very competitively and I fear that if there is not a good takle-up then the club will think twice about generous offers such as this in future which is a real shame.

Mate said Saints travel in real numbers and a bumper away turnout could really boost that gate annd get it up towards five figures.

As of 17.00 tonight southampton had sold 600 tickets.

One person who probably won't be looking forward to the trip to the Amex is Sammy Lee,

the new Saints coach had agreed to join his former Liverpool colleague and new Brighton manager Sami Hypia at the Amex and only a day after agreeing did an about turn and headed for St Mary's, :lolol::

it will add up to a harsh reception from what is expected to be a fairly low crowd of around 6,000.

Why are Brighton fans talking down a friendly when we have a a new manager who trying to rebuild the side in a tougher league due Parachute payments. We got one game at home before we start our league campaign. Our fans are as important as are the team we need to get behind them now. If you are still thinking of going please do its our club lets show how passionate we are.:albion2::drama::ascarf: bring Friend I am unfortunately he's a Saint fan.

Bit strange if true - brand new home kit, first chance for an Amex audience to see it and they're opting for a kit that, unless something has changed, fans can't actually buy.

Argus reporting that So'ton will play in their yellow and blue away kit, which makes me wonder why we can't play in the red/black stripes. Seems a pity to tease people... unless it's a deliberate ploy to make people covet the orange.

If they can't get a big home friendly then there's seriously no point in having a home friendly in future.

6,000 or so people would seem to disagree with you.

Who would it have to be to meet your definition of 'big', in any case?

The idea is to get the players used to playing at home with a supportive crowd, something that would not happen if all pre-season games were away. Also avoids unnecessary travelling in the last fortnight of pre-season training.

I think the magic figure for pre season kick a bouts should be circa £10 for the whole stadium (1901 excluded of course). Unless the opposing club is a huge draw. Southampton are not.

As for you thinking the club are being generous? Really? :D

Just a quick look at prices for pre-season friendlies this weekend...

Blackpool (all 11 players they have) v Burnley £15
Brentford v Crystal Palace £15
MK Dons v Leicester £16/£18
Reading v Swansea £15
West Ham v Sampdoria £20/£25

On that basis I think our prices are very good, and given the discount over our normal Champinship prices.
