Back in the late 90's-mid 2000's it was the golden generation of iranian footballers and there were numerous iranian players in top Europe leagues like the Bundesliga, LA liga, serie a, and the premier league. The biggest club an iranian player has played for would probably be Bayern Munich who had Ali Karmi, Ali Daei, and Vahid Hashemian.

When these players retired, there was a lack of European legionnaires but it seems to be coming back up with the likes of Jahanbakhsh, Azmoun and others.

If Jahanbakhsh would go to the premier league he would be the fourth iranian to play there after Ashkan Dejagah, Andranik Teymourian, and Karim Bagheri. If he were to go to Brighton he would be the 6th or 7th iranian player to play in England.

His problem with going to the Prem would be that he won't be guaranteed any game time. The Championship is a good move for a lad of his age with regular football.

Also as Bridcutt, Buckley, Hammond, and Ulloa have proved playing for the Albion does not necessarily do your chance of getting into the Premier League any harm either.

If we can do it for Hammond, we can do it for anyone.

Exactly. It also says that if you're good enough to earn it and we don't get promoted, we won't hold you back.

So no news then. Strange one this. Being honest I know nothing about this guy having never seen him play but will be disappointed when/if this doesn't happen.

Yep, we are a good shop window and with the training ground and Amex in place, we do provide a professional environment on the sunny south coast. Without being biased we are attractive.

This will only happen if he hangs it out and there aren't any better takers come August.

70,000+ views on this thread, almost 500 posts. Is this a record for pre-season desperation?

Claytons thread from last year was massive IIRC.

Wise words. 123 pages, 127,683 views. It's almost like we've given up or couldn't give a sh1t ;)

I can almost guarantee he would be a great signing for you guys but realistically the chances of him going to a team like PSV, another top Dutch team, or Norwich are higher based on the things I've heard him say in interviews.

But it has been reported that we have had a bid accepted for well over a week, yet it doesn't appear any of those other clubs have made a bid or expressed any actual interest.

He may want to go to one of those clubs, he'd probably like to go to Barcelona, Real or Bayern, but if they don't actually make an offer or they think that £1.4m is too much, then he might not get the option.
