That was in the Sussex Senior Cup. I will admit to not being sure how cautions and red cards in County Cup competitions are handled with regard to other reserve/youth team football; it is possible his suspension will only apply to the Sussex Senior Cup. Does anybody know for sure?

Back in the day suspensions could be 'spent' missing first team games ..........

Wouldnt Ayunga be better off playing against professionals, all be it U21's, rather than opponents of a lower standard than the level he came from ?

Exactly, but its usually an indication that he is currently not particularly valued by the Academy staff and not worthy of a start for the U23's .

I thought Tiley get a red in his last game?

The FA website is showing Tilley having to serve a 3-match ban at Non First Team level for Serious Foul Play - the ban commences today (which is 14 days after the offence) and the end date is showing as December 12. This would indicate that he does indeed have to miss U-23 matches; the 3 games are the Premier League 2 matches against Wolves (Nov 28) and Fulham (Dec 12), and the Premier League Cup match at West Ham on Dec 1 (he would be available for the Checkatrade Trophy tie at AFC Wimbledon on December 6, should he be required, because that competition has a standalone disciplinary process).
