Relatively new phenomenon, this. Otherwise I am sure Mullers would have been sent off once or twice. After all, he was the first to be sent off whilst playing for England, I think. (v Italy in the 1968 Euro Champs Semi Finals?) I reckon Adams would have been a good candidate, too.

Pretty certain I can recall Adams (during first stint) having to serve a ban and seeing him sat in the stands at Wankdean.

Coppell got sent to the stands at Rushden away once, a game we won 3-1 with Leon Knight scoring a cracker. At the time Reading were sniffing around and I hoped his show of passion showed he wanted to stay at the club, but alas, within days he was gone.
