Freddie Simmonds started and captained the England U-16s today as they beat South Korea 3-0 at the Albir Garden Sports Resort in Spain.

Harry Howell came on as a sub and scored England's second goal.

England won this friendly tournament ("Football Federations Cup") with 3 wins out of 3 and a GD of 10-1.

Here are England with the trophy with the three Albion players circled: no. 11 Harry Howell, no. 15 Freddie Simmonds and no. 7 Tyler Silsby:-

One for you AZ. My boy has played against Alejandro Rodriguez Gomez in the national schools cup. Had to mark him and reckons he’s the best player he’s faced (he’s played against all three of the Brighton lads, including many games against Tyler Silsby). Gomez is a Southampton striker. He entered the academy late, in his u15 season. Played for Portugal, Venezuela and England at u15 and u16 level and has scored for Southampton u21’s already. Scored 5 on his England debut. Definitely one to watch in this age group. He got assists 2 &3 today (I watched via your tweet). He’s number 19 in the post above. Looks about 26 🤣

Simmonds is a big lad, isn't he? He'll be quite a unit if he fills out a bit

According to this a number of scouts consider him a flat track bully and there isn't a lot of interest in him from English clubs (it seems he has received a final offer from Saints that his "entourage" are apparently unhappy with and are trying to generate interest from elsewhere).

An interesting take, but is a 15 year old scoring at u21 level a flat track bully?
