I'm in a good mood today despite not winning yesterday. It was a very tight game and saw nothing from Reading (apart from the fouls and time-wasting) to worry me. I predict a 2-1 victory at Reading. (Although I predicted 3-1 yesterday!)

Did you decide where you were going to watch it? I'm going to the Wellington - decent enough pub

Huddersfield finished the season with a NEGATIVE goal difference.

In what parallel universe do they deserve promotion?!

They weren't, they were third across the last 23 games, with a PPG of 1.91. Reading just 2 points behind them over that range (1.82 PPG) and 1 point behind them in the form table over the last 6 games approaching the playoffs.

They were, they achieved 47 points in their last 23 games, a PPG ratio of 2.04. Newcastle second with 45, and Sheff Wed 3rd. Over that period Reading achieved 42 points, 5 points behind (PPG 1.83). You are probably looking at a table that calculates the second round of fixtures against each opponent, not what their final 23 games actually were. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2016-2017/custom-table

Currently, Fulham are the best team in the play-offs. I think that's clear for all to see, and the bookmakers agree.

^ Fulham's last 23 games, from Dec 26th to the present date. Which is the second half of the season...

Yes, indeed.

However, all that now matters is a single game where Reading have home advantage to get to Wembley.

Best wishes to Reading, although I'll admit to not caring too much.

Surprised anyone is suggesting that league form has anything to do with the play offs or complaining they were "cagey".

Complete lottery with so much to win or lose.

Isn't it the case that something like 36/38 per cent of the time the team finishing third goes up from the Championship? So it isn't a complete lottery, which would be 25 per cent.

Quite looking forward to tonight's game. For once I can attend a play-off match without the inevitable disappointment at the end (and win or lose I'll be on the pitch with the Reading fans :lolol: )
