It was the real Alan Smith, but his scorned-ex guessed his password and took it over - she's threatening to tell all via 140 characters, already some hints about Smith and Gary Kelly getting off with each other, and loads of stuff about him and his love of money.
She's had to change the name to avoid being banned - it's now something like "footballbanta" or "footballbanter".

I'm sure I read somewhere that Smith's agent came out and said it was a hoax. No idea if that is true or not though. Quite frankly couldn't care less, never had any time for Smith after his "I just want to ride my BMX" comments on that program about Lilleshall.
