Nope, if he was 5 and earning 15k his score would be 3 (i.e. £3,000 for every year of his age). A score of 0.3333 means he only earns £333 for every year of his age..... I think

therefore

salary = (5 / 0.33) x 1000

£15,152

I'm hoping you got that the wrong way round Timothy. Otherwise if you are 30 you're only earning about 7k a year. Even in Oz I don't think that'll get you very far.
