2 minor changes that would immediately improve football

1. Referees to keep the whistle IN their pocket until they are absolutely positive that a PROPER offence has occurred.
2. Linesmen are only to flag for offside where everyone in the ground would agree that the attacker is offside.

Those 2 minor changes would instantly make football a better game where the team that deserved to win would be very likely to win. The ball would be in-play much more and the game would be much more exciting to watch.

video replays where a decision is in doubt. If we had them today then Symes would have been off for either a second yellow after getting one for the Ank broken nose or a straight red for the elbow and the penatly would never have been. The game was stopped, it would not slow up play at all

Agreed, with the technology available today, the ref could get a whisper in the ear within seconds of anything controversial. However, I stand by what I've suggested above.....go with that and you won't even need video replays. All he had to do today when they both went up with their hands above their heads was NOTHING.....2 arms splayed out in front of him shouting play on play on!
