It's been over 18 years now, but I've still got non-bettors remorse about missing out on this coup when many NSCers piled on McShane to score the only goal in an Albion win at Selhurst Park.

I'm not missing out again. I'm going ALL IN on us to qualify tomorrow.

(NSC may have a new owner on Friday if this all goes wrong)

That was a good day from Covent Garden to Shitehurst an away crowd that didn’t run from Palace like I’ve seen from our last visit there.

Put the booze away, put the credit card back in your wallet and breath.

How did anyone manage to run via a police escort?

The bet was Virgo to score first away at Leicester
33/1
I remember being in the Preston Park Tavern pub watching it on TV. It seemed like the whole pub had that bet, as well as bets on Virgo to score the last goal. Place erupted at full time!

Maybe that was another one.

The 1-0/McShane was a big one with some *cough* @hans kraay fan club *cough* picking up a win at 285/1!

I swear everyone was on that bet, like dozens of people, it was in the stars that night. For some reason I missed or couldn't find a bookie open, just missed closing time but remember trying to get the bet on but failing.

Im.sure the Argus had a picture on the back of a few people with their winnings, possibly from here, holding betting slips and a fistful of tenners?

I was there as a guest of a close friend who is a Palace fan. At that time her Dad was involved with Palace so we got seats in the main stand and access to one of the lounges. The lounge included a betting booth.

I put £2 on McShane as 1st goalscorer and the same as last goalscorer.

I think it was 80/1 on each.

What's even funnier is that it was actually an own goal by Boyce.

After the keeping my head down whilst internally going crazy when I bumped into Dick Knight. We knew each other from the Bring Home the Albion , and he asked me what doing there, and we quietly celebrated together.
