Indeed they have.

West Sussex
Yellow warning of snow
From:
1500 on Thu 29 January
To:
1100 on Fri 30 January
Updated 1 hour ago
Showers during Thursday afternoon and evening are expected to fall increasingly as sleet, snow and hail. This may settle in places, especially from late afternoon and more especially on high ground. In addition, a more persistent spell of rain, sleet and and snow may affect the west and south of the yellow area during the early hours of Friday morning. Most areas are unlikely to see large amounts of snow but icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces.

The public should be aware of the risk of some travel disruption and difficult driving conditions.

THUNDERSNOW! Where's that been all our lives up to now? One more crap Yank-invented word allowed to pass unchallenged into the BBC vocabulary.I've a good mind to SCREAM for a 'first-responder'.

Kendal is only just above sea level and next to Morecambe Bay.I live about 17 miles away on the edge of the Dales and at 450 feet above sea level no snow. The snow line on the hills is about 1000 feet.
As for Sat the weather is meant to be sunny with a northerly wind which if correct will mean it's going to be cold but dry ( sunny ).
The pitch is a mess, like a non league ground which is where Blackpool are heading .They need a change of owners.

Edit, had a 50 minute snow storm and now have a couple of inches on the ground.Hope the gritters get working soon or it will freeze solid later.

We need pictures of lovely Northern snow. We'll repay the compliment when we get a foot of the stuff next month (this is not a forecast!)

Steady moderate rain here in West Worthing, not much chance of any settling now here, even if we get some.
