With Chris Froome going into today as holding the Yellow Jersey for 38 days, now 5th in the all time list, the list itself makes very interesting reading.
2 time winner Fausto Coppi has held it 1 day fewer than Tommy Voeckler.
Fabian Cancellara has held it for an astonishing 29 days for someone that has never won it. That is more than 9 multiple winners of the tour.
Firmin Lambot won Le Tour twice in 1919 and 1922. He held Yellow for just 5 days.

Given what’s just come before and what lies ahead, it’s likely that an escape of top climbers and GC rejects will fight out this stage by using the Forclaz as a springboard to move clear and contest the stage. The GC riders will bide their time until the closing kilometres above Finhaut. In 2014, Contador attacked Froome here with a couple of kilometres to go and turned a 12-second deficit into an eight-second lead.
Of course, the caveat is if the blood of a main contender is in the water early, expect rivals teams to try to press home their advantage by sending men up the road to lend a pull later.

Another snorefest stage coming up.
Yep, Majka trying to get the Polka Dots sewn up, and a bunch of people going for the stage. Would not be surprised to see it brought back, but that will require one of the contenders teams putting the hammer down on the penultimate climb. Sky definitely won't do it because they do not have to.
