Tex was replaced by Harper surely? Granted he is currently injured until September, but I think he was the replacement. Permanent as well, not a loan.

We don't really need a specialist central attacking midfielder if we are playing 442. We need creative wingers who can play inside as well if CH wants to change it about a bit. Flexible creativity is the order of the day - Tex would fit that bill, but we are not going to get him or his like from the PL until their squads are announced. Anyone know when that is?

We have a talented 19 year old from RM who people have been raving about for the last couple of years as an emerging talent, who is not a loan, and he is virtually ignored by NSC, in favour of Tex. A loan. I dont get it. The boy must have some skills.

He's an entirely unknown quantity from RM C-Team with no experience at Championship level and was on the way out the door at RM.

He could be the next Ronaldo/Beckham or could totally flop and sit on the reserves bench for the next 2 years.

We have no idea yet, so I don't think NSC will have formed an opinion on him until he actually plays.

Tex was a highly rated, 19/20 year old number 10, signed with next to no first team experience, from one of Europe's most famous clubs.

How can you POSSIBLY compare him to Harper?

True and over the entire course of the season delivered very little other than in 4-5 games.

Just hope Harper when fit provides a bit more.

The 2 year deal puzzles me a bit, as if a success when fit, he'll only have around 18 months left.

Firstly, I think you're a bit harsh on Teixeira.

Secondly, I'd be amazed if the club didn't have a clause in place meaning they could extend the contract by a year or 2.

Don't think I am, how many games can you name where he made a difference?

Personally thought he was a passenger most of the time, too lightweight.

Admittedly not many off of the top my head, but when you consider we were absolutely atrocious all season and he had no wingers or strikers to work with then I'd say he was a little limited with what he could do.

Off the top of my head, was very good against Leeds home and away, Birmingham at home and Ipswich at home. He did get kicked out of it in some games though. Middlesbrough and Forest in particular were allowed to get away with some shocking tackles on him.

I'd add Bournemouth away, but then I'm struggling.

As was mentioned he was playing in a poor team, though arguably that should have made him stand out even more.
