Oh Doug Stanhope, I nearly missed that, he's funny.
I'll be adding him to my list, which already has all your other listenings.

Anyone who in the past has listened to The Complete Guide To Everything would enjoy the last 10 minutes of the current episode.

Tim looses his s**t over Harry Potter, as he's just started to read the books, never having seen the films.
It's very funny.

I've add 'The West Wing Weekly' to my list. Joshua Malina (played Will Bailey on the West Wing) and Hrishi Hirway (I'd not heard of him, but apparently he has another podcast called 'song exploder' and he is part of a band called Moors).

They are discussing every episode of The West Wing, one each week, in order. They are up to episode 8.The idea is for listeners to watch the episode of The West Wing, then listen to them discuss it, and behind the scenes things. They have also started to have people who worked on the show come on as guests.

I'm in on that too, I'm loving all the 'behind the scenes' chat, Dule Hill's interview was particularly interesting.

I'm a massive WW fan but couldn't stand Joshua Malina. He came in around the time Aaron Sorkin went out and it all went a bit Centrist.

As am I.
After a long break I've been avidly watching it repeated on Sky Atlantic, where I'm currently coming to the end of series 6.
The drop off in quality is amazing.

Even though I'd not watched WW for years some of the early stuff I almost knew the next line.
Now we're at Barlett's successor I can hardly remember the narrative arch.

The No Such Thing As A Fish podcast, or more commonly known as The QI elves, have their own TV show.
It was on BBC2 last night and is now on I-Player.

Amazingly it has the feel of a cheaper version of the podcast.
But it's still smart and funny just not visual.

As recommended on the No Such Thing As A Fish podcast, I've listened to and enjoyed a couple of Futility Closet episodes.

An albeit slightly rushed look at a couple of lesser known historical accounts.

I'm not sure if they're new (or whether I've posted in this thread already) but I've recently gone searching for new Podcasts and my current line-up for the foreseeable is;

- Football Ramble (Nothing at the moment, obviously)
- Football Weekly (Random weekly stories/documentaries until season starts)
- The Nerdist (Lot of good interviews)
- Talk is Jericho (As above, mostly wrestling related but others as well)
- Stuff you should know
- The Complete Guide to Everything
- The Giant Bombcast (Gaming)
- Friday Night Comedy (R4 broadcast)
- The Bugle (Satire, now monthly)
- Answer Me This

There are others alongside these but I'd say this is the A-list...
I picked a few Nerdist interviews at random ages ago - probably the time of your post - by only just got to them. Listening to the Patrick Stewart one today and surprised by how funny he is.

There's more than one Patrick Stewart podcast on there now and, honestly, they're probably the ones I've enjoyed the most. He's just such a dude.

Also, Tom Hiddlestone was quite fun if memory serves, as was Tom Hanks.

Thanks Gullyflyinghigh I've needed something new in my life podcast wise and this fits the bill expertly for journeys to and from work and long runs.

For any X Files fans buoyed by the return of the show I would recommend The X Files files by Kumal Nanjiani.

This podcast is now only sporadically updated but start about two years ago and brings together reviews of the old shows together with longer interviews with ex characters and writers. As a self confessed geek I've found it excellent.

Would also highly recommend Serial but that's been mentioned already.

Thanks for this. Smashed through the West Wing in April / May this year having never seen it before. Loved it.

The cryptid factor - Rhys Darby podcast about weird things that are going on in the world, it's not the most consistent in terms of schedule but it's always worth a listen.

The Albion, finally, had their praises sung on today;s Guardian Football Weekly with AC Jimbo.

One of their regular reporters/contributors is a Norwich fan and watched our last 2 games.

Unsurprisingly he was seriously impressed by the team, picking out the Duffy business, in particular.

I think it was the first bit of non international chat.
