You don't trial a player like Robbie Keane, the man will have plenty of offers and rightly so.

Telling Keane to take a trial is a smack in the face to a man of his quality and pedigree

Quite. It's all about his fitness and stamina. These should be tested in the medical, surely?

Maybe he would like the game to test himself in our style etc and show what he can do to us and others who are interested in signing him so nopt exactly a trial but a shop window showing.

Are you sure you want to go toe to toe with someone who thinks its ok to offer a player of Keane's stature a 7 day contract?

If only football worked like it does in your head BG... I mean when was the last time you heard of a 7 day contract? Let alone to someone with multiple offers?

Basically similar to BZ coming back (without the legend status). Proven scoring pedigree, good team man by all accounts, known to CH too. No brainer if he wants to come and the sums add up. Can see him coming on for 20-30 mins when one of our starting strikers is knackered (like Tomer was on Friday). Will get goals, no doubt.

Or someone who pushed the idea that KLL was actually on a secret 3 year loan from Newcastle ?

A 36 year old who has been out of top class competitve football since August 2011 so has something to prove. I think that he would be a good signing thought to doi the BZ role.

Even if you are suggesting that the MLS isn't competitive, which is bizarre, he went to Euro 2016 with Ireland and has only just retired from International football.

Why would he run the risk of being injured against a team like Lincoln, when he no doubt already has a number of offers to consider? And would cup-tie himself, thus making himself less valuable to a team still in the cup.

I have no problem with us trying to sign him. Just hope if we've offered him a contract, we also have a back up plan for when he inevitably turns us down to sign for a bigger club like Wednesday or Leeds.

The MLS is a retirement league for overage players wanting to continue their carrears to earn some more money who are beyond playing in the EFL or any other serious league.
